The Beginning
A lot of the beginning of the internet is attributed to Tim Berners-Lee, who created the World Wide Web and the ability to travel through different web pages using links. He was not the only person who helped create what the internet is today. Robert Kahn and Vincent Cerf were the people who created TCP/IP, which is how data is transferred between networks. They actually worked on the internet before Tim Berners-Lee. While Berners-Lee created the World Wide Web in 1990, Cerf and Kahn were working on the internet as far back as 1983 (the official birthday of the internet). These aren’t the only people who worked on making the internet what it is, though. Paul Baran, Lawrence Roberts, and Leonard Kleinrock all contributed to the creation of what we all use every day.
